Or so it would seem, judging from a survey by Pew Global on attitudes to torture among four US religious demographics - white Evangelicals, white Catholics, white mainstream Protestants and white unaffiliated.

Some 62% of the former believe torture often or sometimes justified, as do 51% of Catholics, 46% of Protestants and 40% of the unafilliated. And approval rises with church attendance - 54% of those going at least weekly approve, compared to 51% of monthly attenders and 42% of rare / never attend.

Our Oz chums have a would be Jihadist up in front of the beak, charged with 'attempting to incite the commission of a terrorist act'. So far, so hum drum.

However, it is Belal Saadallah Khazaal's magnum opus on terrorising the kufr that is the point of interest:

"[It] lists assassination methods including smothering a target by throwing a "cake". The book states "cake throwing" is well-known in the west, and suggests that instead of the sweets, an "adhesive substance could be used"....A couple could pretend to be joking before attacking the target," the translation reads. "This would lead to his eyes, nose and mouth being plugged and loses the ability to breathe. "Few would suspect the fatal consequences".

Shades of some of the more comical targetings of Fidel Castro.

Exciting news from Pravda Central: "£12.5 million to tackle radicalisation and help prevent extremism in communities".

And I wonder which communities the government is concerned about, and what manner of radicalisation it might be thinking of? Have you guessed yet?

OK, the press release has just under 1000 words in it, and just after the half-way point, someone - La Blears - actually points at Jumbo:

"work to strengthen governance in mosques and the capacity of imams and Muslim women beginning to take a stronger role".

And thereafter, no mention of the M word at all.

A little unfairly, the act of bending the knee to a powerful neighbour is strongly associated with the Finns, despite that nation's willingness to stand up to the Red Wheel in 1939.

So much for the history lesson. The Christian Democrat head of government of a western democracy, fearing that his country's citizens and economic interests might be in peril, lays the prospective blame not at the door of the rioters, assassins, boycotters and so forth, but on someone who remains at home and is exercising a right for which his co-nationals have been prepared to lay down their lives.

The quisling in question is Jan Peter Balkende of the Netherlands: "If Dutch companies, citizens and interests abroad are hurt following MP Geert Wilders' film on the Koran, there is only one person responsible, according to Prime Minister Balkenende. "At this moment, a great responsibility is resting on Mr. Wilders". Source

Consider how the brain-dead Left loves consorting with Islamofascists in this country and sundry others. I would have expected it to be the same grim tale with the far left in Denmark, but no:

"In an interview with Jyllands-Posten newspaper, [Villy Søvndal, leader of the Socialist People's Party] continued to lash out at the extremist group [Hizb ut-Tahrir. C] whose demonstration had delivered a direct threat towards Danish society, telling them to 'go to hell'.

'If they want to live in a religious dictatorship so badly, they can go to those countries in the Middle East where such dictatorships exist,' he said.

Amen Comrade Søvndal. Are you listening George?
