Dumbing down...
This time in Australia, where the woefully inaptly named Nobel laureate, Professor Peter Doherty notes with some disgust that in Queensland pupils taking science are studying pop song lyrics. More here.
I can see that this might take off here in pursuit of 'relevance' and 'engagement' in education.

Wish I `d studies pop Lyrics
Outside , I `m masquerading
Inside , my hope is fading
Simple pure and true . I suppose its writer would be called
Smoke-Free Robinson ...now
I have a request to find out from PHITCH where his bizarre email exchange with "the Other One" took place. If passing please tell

I believe that this is the Queensland Education theme song:
Wonderful World (Sam Cooke)
"Don't know much about history
Don't know much biology
Don't know much about a science book
Don't know much about the French I took
But I do know that I love you
And I know that if you love me too
What a wonderful world this would be
Don't know much about geography
Don't know much trigonometry
Don't know much about algebra
Don't know what a slide rule is for.
But I do know that one and one is two,
And if this one could be with you,
What a wonderful world this would be.
Now i don't claim to be an "A" student,
But I'm trying to be.
So maybe by being an "A" student baby
I can win your love for me.
Don't know much about history
Don't know much biology
Don't know much about a science book
Don't know much about the French I took.
But I do know that I love you,
And I know that if you love me too,
What a wonderful world this would be.
Latatatatatatahuwaah (history)
Oehwoewoe (biology)
Latatatatatatahuwaah (science book)
Oehwoewoe (French I took)
But I do know that I love you,
And I know that if you love me too,
What a wonderful world this would be"

I thought it was Smokey Robinson and Tears of a Clown but I can't remember all the words. Something like:
I've got a smile on my face,
it's only there to fool the public
but when it comes down to fooling you
now honey that's quite a different subject
don't let my glad expression
give you the wrong impression
really I'm sad
sadder than sad
you're gone and I'm hurting so bad
like a clown I pretend to be glad
(ooh oh) there's some sad things known to man
but aint too much sadder than
the tears of a clown
when there's no one around
(N.Soul solo dance routine)
and I can't remember the rest. Which is probably a good thing. I'd hat to atempt a back-drop at my time of life!

2 You are outstandingly right wing
3You have different view
4 You don`t sulk
However I do not understand what exception you are refferring to ?Something clever I`m sure
...see how sweet I can be
