Chavez finds a new way to irk the West
Judging from an item in Le Monde, Chavez may just have struck the motherlode and what is more with one of the wobblier members of the West. Spain may have opted out of Iraq, got involved with the risible 'Allliance of Civilisations' project etc etc, but it still has a sacred cow or two, and Chavez has zeroed in on the big one - Basque separatism. Zapatero may well have telephoned Chavez to congratulate him on his re-election, but ETA fugitives holed up in Caracas are not going to be extradited and will be allowed to take up Venezuelan nationality. Zapatero is not happy....
Looks like shades of Gaddafi cosying up to the Fenians as a way of irking the UK, and I predict that once news of this spreads to balaclava wearers everywhere, they will be making haste to Caracas where doubtless they will be feted and given ample opportunity to slate their enemies. It must irk Chavez no end that the Red Brigades, Baader Meinhof, the IRA etc etc and 'traditional' terrorism are rather out of fashion these days, thus rather limiting his ability to plague most leading European states. Maybe a pelota league will be set up for all the exiled Basques...

Zapatero is another fine specimen of Euro dhimmitude.That alliance of Civilisations nonsense is a stomach turning business. I'm very much surprised Emily hasn't signed up to it.
But more seriously, it was Zapatero's government that granted a legal amnesty to 800,000 undocumented immigrants in 2005.The amnesty makes the country a gateway for illegal immigrants. I dare say a large number of them will make their way to Blighty.
