What would you think if Brown or Cameron had dual nationality?

Not an entirely abstract question as Stephane 'The Wanderer' Dion, leader of the Canadian Liberals has dual Maple Leaf / Tricolore nationality, and there are rumblings yonder about whether this is entirely appropriate for a would be national leader, and whether he should renounce French citizenship. Dion seems to think that incanting a mantra of 'End of story' will make it so, but I am less than convinced.

I am struggling to think of many other high profile leaders who have been in the same position. Courtesy of his mother, the Greatest Englishman of All Time *could* have taken up US nationality if he had wanted (I think), but clearly did not, likewise numerous MPs could have sought Israeli nationality. One might note that Dion has spent a significant period of time in France as he did his PhD at Science Po in Paris (making him one step down, or up, from being an Enarque).

Why? What's so great about Britain?

As for dual nationality, presumably A.H. had it till '38, when he er no longer needed it.

LR - It has its moments.

Having checked, Hitler took on German nationality in 1932, although he had renounced Austrian nationality in 1925.

London gallic types seem a fairly peaceful bunch.

Exactly - The Florence of the North, as noted previously.
