Des Browne takes shamelessness to another dimension

All decent people were outraged at the refusal of access to the UK for Honourary Lieutenant (QGO) Tulbahadur Pun VC of the 6th Gurkha rifles, on the grounds that he had "failed to demonstrate...strong ties with the UK".

That wrong has been righted and he arrives here tomorrow. So far, so good.

However, Des Browne has the brass neck, brass head, brass torso and quite possibly brass limbs to associate himself with this via a press release published at the Ministry of Defence.

And what does he have to say?: "I am pleased that Honourary Lieutenant (QGO) Tulbahadur Pun VC has arrived in the UK to receive medical treatment. I hope that both he and his family enjoy their time in the UK and that the medical treatment is successful." No apology, naturally.

And what of the disgraceful earlier circumstances? 'Explained' thus: "Honourary Lieutenant (QGO) Tulbahadur Pun VC has a settlement visa. This was granted on exceptional grounds earlier this month".

I am seething.

I diagree
we dont need this type of person in the country , they take up valuable council houses and hospital beds that we could be offering to somalian rapists or algerian jihadists.

My jaw keeps getting scuffed as it hangs limply on the floor...Glub. You would think this would never work but then you would think announcing the same money four or five times would not work. Some people notice but many do not
Come to think of it when this British theme first started with the Broon I thought naaah ... seriously ..come on. I see Dennis Mc Shae today is complaining that Conservatives have been insufficiently aware of the theological foundation for Islamic terror.

How can we make a stand against this many tentacled lie monster C

Hitch - Indeed.

N - Well, the price of liberty is, as ever, eternal vigilance.

Given the Asian pigswill without permission to stay that is being housed and cossetted by the British taxpayer, the treatment of our brave friends the Gurkhas is a puzzle. I just don't get it.

I can only put it down to socialist loathing of patriotism and valour.

Swiss Tony is a parasite, and the worst kind of politician- a lawyer, incompetent and quick to jump on any passing bandwagon.

Mr. C, don't seethe - the man is a complete horse's backside.

N - the trick is they numb people with lying about trivial things so that when they drop the whoppers nobody is surprised.

It is quite incredible how uninterested many people are in politics - and they probably won't be until it's too late!

The British electorate appear to have given up caring, and unlike some countries we only have one way to hold these people to account. I bet ministers in many other countries couldn't get away with the sort of lies our lot get away with.

"...strong ties with the UK"

Heh, as a VC recipient, this guy's name is inscribed on a monument on Constitution Hill, outside Buckingham Palace, as well as inside Westminster Abbey.
