Fun & games with Eurobarometer

The EU has just released another one of their hefty opinion polls, this time on energy, and it is throwing out all sorts of amusing findings. Best so far is that apparently 4% of the Irish would never buy a lightbulb. Least this be seen as an exercise in Hibernia bashing, 5% of Luxemburgers don't know what they would consider when buying a lightbulb.

Elsewhere, the Greeks and the Spanish were most likely to answer 'what have you done / are you doing to save energy' with 'nothing'. My Greek is non-existent, but I do rather like the idea of a Hispanic retort of 'nada'.

The Swedes most like the idea of being hectored, with 63% in favour of 'public information campaigns' on energy saving. We are the least keen, along with the Germans, Irish and Belgians. And showing our time honoured pragmatism, the British are the most likely to consider that students are not interested in Energy Studies as a course (45%), whereas 18% of Austrians seem to think it could be the new Media Studies.

More later, unless this is inducing narcolepsy in the readership.

Which is a happy thing. I am favourably disposed towards accountants for the same reason.

I have to pause to make my second cup of tea and put the garbage out. We get three pick-ups a week in these parts. Tee hee.

For this, I pay 62P a month.

Oh, I see I double-posted this on a different thread. Apologies. My mind wandered. The Marmite hadn't kicked in.

This is the Really Interesting thread, so take your tea & marmite elsewhere!
