Truly the Apocalypse is upon us, part 97

Because how else could the FDA approval of a diet pill for dogs be explained?

I am almost, but not quite speechless. I would have thought that the connection between a dog being lardy and it both eating too much and / or not moving around enough would be utterly clear to anyone with an IQ that enabled them to wield a can opener. The drug itself is called Slentrol, which seems a little uninspired.

You are right, as ever, Croydonian! Canine lardbutts need more walkies and fewer bikkies. How hard is that to organise?

How stupid are some people?

OT - but what's happened to PHITCH. His new site looks like it's ready to go - but hasn't actually started yet. Is the old boy unwell or is he just trying to build the tension?

I do wonder whether any self-respecting vet would be prepared to prescribe it.

I believe Hitch is away for a few days. Doubtless he will hit us with a broadside of invective when he's good and ready.

Oh, I expect they will, Croydonian, out of frustration. They have probably put that dog on a diet several times and had it brought back in for weighings and it never losing an ounce because the owner just can't bear those pleading eyes and the eager whine.

In the main, cats eat until they feel vaguely full, then walk away from a dish although it may still have food in it. Then they sit down and use up a lot of energy having a thorough wash.

I will bludgeon you with further cat information: although it is done apparently randomely, cats actually wash themselves all over three times a day.

You can feel free to bludgeon me with as much feline related data as you like Verity . I adore cats . My wife frequently remarks that she prefers them to people and I sometimes agree. As I sit tapping away Jemimah is lazing on my lap. Jemimah is a dark haired slender green eyed beauty with a sharp intelligence and cool appraising stare .On a nasty rainy day I could not ask for more.

Afternoon C-I am about dip into "O Jerusalem " by Larry Collins and Dominique Lapierre. It comes highly recomended. A far better idea than my invitaion from David Willets underling and IzCons leader Chris Skidmore

Are you around this weekend at any point to discuss ward strategy? Whatever is best for you. We need to deduce crucial areas of focus.

He has since apologised ......

"deduce crucial areas of focus!!" One for the hall of fame I thought

One more fact about cats, this also, like the fact that they have a complete wash three times a day, provided courtesy of time-lapse photography - Cats spend around 9% of each day getting washed. The rest of the day is devoted to eating, sleeping, napping, light snoozing and staring vacantly at nothing in particular.

The evil mr hitchens is back and struggling with this new google blog malarkey
He will also be returning to gods country within the next 48 hours for more fresh air and bluff northern opinions

verity
cats do not "wash" they spit on themselves.
If you were to spot an attractive man across the room then notice him gobbing into his hand and then giving himself a rubdown, would you consider him to be a suitable partner?
On a similar note, there is a video out there of neo-con paul wolfowitz spitting on his comb and dampening down his hair before an interview.
Nice )+:

PH - we look forward to it...

Meanwhile,
this time lapse video of mogs in 'action' at boreme.com is quite amusing

Well, no they don't, PHitch. Their rough little tongues are wet, and they lick their fur. You pick up any cat that is well fed and content and who isn't inclined to claw your fact off for picking it up, and it will smell like fresh laundry.

Croydonian - I liked the video and have sent it on. Yes, it was funny.
