The end of 'Super Tuesday'?
Full-time wonks know that the US electoral season kicks off with the Iowa caucuses and the New Hampshire primaries, giving momentum ahead of Super Tuesday when much of the South chooses a candidate. This gives something of a boost to more socially conservative candidates in both parties, shall we say?
However, there is already the minor bombshell of Nevada Democrats having moved their date to follow close behind Iowa and NH, and now there are moves afoot for California to grab a seat at the top table. A date in early Feb is being aimed for, while Super Tuesday is in March... This would have two major impacts - firstly, it gives the whip hand to the more socially liberal while not pandering to more collectivist economics, and secondly, with campaigning in the Golden State being a fairly expensive affair, fringe candidates and the unmoneyed are likely to be knocked out very quickly. This is likely to be good for McCain and Giuliani, and that is just fine with me.

This has been threatened for so long. I think thought that many states wver becuase if a few really did move, then where would it end?
20 states holding primaries on jan 1st?
It could happend as there are no written party rules about when primaries have to be held.
