Left wing pantomime - some initial ruminations

Encouraged by David in the Marx thread, I think this idea has legs, so I'm going to suggest a few plots, some casting etc and see if we can collectively (snigger) cook up something amusing. I have managed to avoid pantomimes for a lawwwnnng time, so if I'm not up to speed on plots and who's who in the classics, I hope I'll be extended some leeway.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarves

Well, the dwarves were miners, so this seems like a good place to start. Perhaps SW7D can be seen as a metaphor for the Labour Party in the form of SW having false consciousness, with Tony the Evil Queen. So the People's Party gets back to its roots through greater involvement on the part of the toiling masses (the dwarves), and some Leftie from central casting - John McDonnell? - gets to be Prince Charming.

I would like to re draft “Babes in the Wood” as “Wood in the Babes” and Cast Prescott as the offender ,. He can also be my widow twanky ( the C is silent).

Clearly the A list will be appearing at some point as any washed up soap starlet is always worth a go on the pantomime circuit.

Metaphorically .

Puss In Boots . The despised worker goes through the bourgeois stage by donning the very appearance of his class oppressor and must be ruthlessly exterminated . Kulak in boots more like eh eh ?

Sleeping beauty- There can only be one sleeping beauty is the spirit of Margaret Thatcher that by the deadly wiles of the of the “pricks” ( as in of her finger) has been consigned to silence in the world . The “evil fairy” who was not invited to party is Edward Heath . His horrible spell rules at this moment but in due course handsome prince Davies , or someone , will awaken the true heir to the throne and

We will all live happily ever after
