Remember the Iranian 'Holocaust cartoon' contest?
Here's an interesting addendum, c/o American cartoonist duo Cox & Forkum. It is a long but entertaining item, and filleting their tale without stealing their thunder is not hugely practical.
I wrote about the original episode and the reaction of some Israeli wags a while back.

Hmm.
Cox -n-Forkum don't seem too good. They seem to be arguing that you shd be free to ridicule Islam (agreed) but that the Islamists are not free to point out that France & Germany forbid you to deny the holocaust. (If it's so obvious that denial shd be verboten, why is it only France & Deutschland - oh, and Austria, which is understandable enough, but still a theoretical denial of free speech.)

S - I think the Iranians were trying to make a broader point about the Shoah as a holy cow to the West.
Shoah deniers are indeed slime, but banning attempts to deny it suggests that there is something to fear from said deniers, and grants a martyr's crown to the pond life that get collared.

Merci pour la speedy reponse.
Indeed, it's extremely unlikely that they'll convert more than a few people. Of small brain.
However, I'm wrong about the numbers. Selon Wikipedia, seem t'be about 10 countries who've banned negationnisme. The German article has a useful rundown of the law in 6 countries, including, sadly, la Suisse, which is going slowly downhill.
Salutations.
