Jamie bloody Oliver

And now he has even greater delusions as to his importance etc, and the NotW has published his 'thoughts' on improving this great nation of ours. A souffle of the idiotic mixed with stale bromides, with just the merest drizzle of the sensible. And of course he manages to fit in a plug for Sainsbury and his PR stunt restaurant in Melbourne. Grr. I offer my sincere apologies to Australia that someone allowed him on plane from London.

And next week we have the Tony 'n' Cherie cooking show....

Rather encouragingly he made 28th in a C4 poll to find to 100 worst Britons, and excluding political / royal figures came 22nd.

Blogger Croydonian said... 4:24 pm

Rigger - it is up the swanee for another user too...

PH - can't say I'd thought of that..

Should now be fixed - rogue html in the template, which apparently firefox compensates for, but IE doesn't.

Boris Johnson was right.

Anonymous Anonymous said... 8:13 pm

Yes,gc. He was. I would have put Ken Livingston much closer to the top, though. And I do think the ghastly Martin Bashir deserves his place in the top 10.

Blogger The Daily Pundit said... 8:58 pm

The hatred of Oliver is almost universal. In fact when push came to shove last week, I sided with Boris Johnson. That's real hate.

btw the posts are all visible now but the side bar has dropped.

I'm yet to 'speak' to anyone who doesn't feel the urge to investigate Oliver's face with a bat of some description.

I rather enjoyed the comment by Masked Marvel at Guido's about the wretched J.O.

Seeing as this is so one sided I feel bound to take on the lad's side.

Mainly because in point 4 he suggests privatising the schools, health service and transport. well 2 out of 3 to go, ok. Most of the rest is drivelling tosh and does contracit this theme, but is not awful lefty nonsense.

In fact better than a lot of the hpan fried air that came out of Bourenmouth last week.

Blogger Croydonian said... 10:03 pm

Yeah, that made me start, but I didn't want to let that get in the way of venting a tad....

Rather like finding somebody (other than cameron) who claims to like Blair.
Jamie is aimed at women,, every woman I have asked has said they find him safe but repulsive .On the flip side I cannot see what any man sees in kate Moss.

Blogger Croydonian said... 10:28 pm

La Moss may well be a Croydon gal, but even we Sarf London nationalists have to draw the line somewhere.

I'm always puzzled by men claiming to lust after the so called super models, as these women are hired for, and make their money from, their ability to appeal to other women. I think they are what's termed an aspirational brand, so for those who don't live the live and do not buy the overpriced clothes, at least they can pony up for the perfume.

(Oh dear, I'm on a roll now)

Mind you, those '100 most beautiful women' lists that are a staple of the more gormless men's mags are a perpetual disgrace - the usual selection of girls next door with good lighting and a publicist. Does anyone *really* think that that S Club 7 girl is beautiful? In the Grace Kelly sense? Come off it...

theinjuredcyclist aka tom - "so many of his comments show such ignorance, it's difficult to know where to start."

Oh, go on! No matter how difficult it is, try to start with an example of Jamie's ignorance!

Like most of the rest of the commentariat, and Britain, I simply don't like him, but I hadn't realised he is ignorant. Ignorant how? He does seem to know how to put a meal together, which puts him ahead of me.

Your majesterial judgement is: Stick to cooking Jamie. (I left out the comma for versimilitude.)

Could you let us know your qualifications for donating this advice? He appears to have done very well indeed in self-promoting. Have you done as well in your career of offering onsought advice to celebrities?
