The company the BBC keeps...
Includes a mini-cab firm that is still employing a driver (guess which religion....) who refused to take a blind woman's guide dog because it was 'unclean'.
"Mrs Vernon, who works as a legal officer for the Royal National Institute for the Blind, added: "The owner of the minicab firm, Niven Sinclair, was also very insensitive, telling me that what had happened to me wasn't really very important, and I should have more respect for other people's culture. They have shown very little respect for my rights as a disabled person and have never once offered me an apology." The driver's refusal resulted in a court case because the law requires all licensed cab drivers to carry guide dogs. Magistrates at Marylebone fined Mr Majekodumni £200 and ordered him to pay £1,200 for failing to comply with regulations set out under the Disability Discrimination Act. After the case Mr Majekodunmi remained defiant and insisted that he would continue refusing passengers accompanied by guide dogs".
He still has his licence, and the BBC still uses the car firm.

Well, that was a double whammy for Majekodumni. No wonder he was thrown off balance. A woman and a dog! My God! How much more is this poor man supposed to take!

I have to speak up on behalf of my local Asian taxi firm, gentlemen to a man , however they are all Hindus, with one exception, a Catholic convert. They are Indians by birth and have a visceral hatred for Muslims and Pakistanis in particular.

It was like this when the Saxons first came to British shores in the 5th century, give them an inch they take a mile, Gildas reports their coming and in two generations the Saxons had taken the country, and Gildas ended his days living in Brittany. We give this alien culture with higher fecundity rates than the english elevated status at our peril.

Guthrum is correct.

A good story, but only inflames the "us and them" scenario. e

Ellee, maybe so, but I think it would have been news if the driver had been similarly oafish in his reaction because he was, for example, allergic to dogs.

Ellee - so what? He is an islamic immigrant from, from the sound of his name, Africa and he is trying to impose his personal beliefs and religion on British people.
Yes, it is an us and them situation. Why should this not be mentioned?

Well, you can see Majekodumni's problem. He's a primitive person from a failed society and he worships a black meteorite in Mecca. So we can see right there that he may not fit into an advanced civilisation.
Next, it's bad enough that he is required to take a woman in his cab, but then a woman tries to get in with a dog. Is this a bad dream? Can it get worse? Well, what if the dog was a bitch?
No wonder this inadequate man, now with a large fine to pay for breaking the law, was overwhelmed.
