From the Croatian Times:

"Muslim extremists have banned Peppa Pig dolls from a shopping centre claiming the children's cartoon character breaks Islamic laws.

Hardline religious leaders told shopkeepers in Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina, that because the dolls were based on pigs they breached muslim food laws which ban pork, reports local news website Bljesak.info".

Oh well done people. It isn't looking good for a Muppets revival.

As I get older, my mind turns more and more to nostril hair.

To plait or not to plait?

Where do you stand on this grave and weighty matter?

I suspect you would need fairly dainty fingers to plait said hair. Also, if you have a 'tache, I suspect that your efforts would go unrecognised.

However, I am getting ahead of myself - is the plaiting intended for reasons of aesthetics or utility?

The plaiting is intended for reasons of purity, which stands in contradistinction to, and wards off, danger.

Intriguing. I imagine the look would be quite Wagnerian. Should one plait together the skeins from both nostrils, or have two separate plaits?

Food laws...? Is the food so bad in Sarajevo that the customers might mistake extruded plastic for real pork?

The answer's probably 'yes', I realise...

Can't say I have heard of any Bosniak restaurants packing 'em in in these parts yet.

I think there is much to be said for the rabbinical approach - no probs with pigskin wallets etc, or even pig to human transplants, as eating is the issue, nothing else.
