Today's DPRK fun and games

"It is stupid of south Korean authorities to aggravate military tension in the Korean Peninsula because it will destroy themselves. Rodong Sinmun today warned this in a singed article".

Doubtless all down to RS's fiery prose.

Strange bedfellows:

"President Kim Il Sung paid deep attention to boosting the relations with Iran and laid firm foundation for the bilateral relations of friendship together with Iranian leaders, [Jong Yong Su, minister of Labour, who is chairman of the DPRK-Iran Friendship Association] said. He expressed full support and firm solidarity with the principled stand of the government and people of Iran on the nuclear activities for peaceful purposes. Morteza Moradian in his speech said that Iran and the DPRK have supported each other in the international arena as they have the same stand".

Didn't someone say something about an axis of evil a while back?

And some snappy sloganeering on the year's new posters:

"Demonstrate the dignity and might of Songun Korea with the mental power of the whole army and people!"

Beats 'There's no 'I' in team '

"Officials, think and think!"

I'm not saying a mumbling word about that one.

"Carry forward unswervingly the anti-Japanese revolutionary tradition!"

Note that the KCNA's site is hosted in Japan....

And not a word about the prospect of long range missile tests that The Korea Herald (Seoul) has as its front page lead.
