The Danes to the rescue? Again?

"A majority of Danish voters want a referendum on the new EU treaty - probably because they have no idea what is in it". Source

"A full 54 percent of Danes indicated they believe a popular vote on the treaty should be held. Most, 35 percent, say they would vote for the treaty, while 23 percent said they would vote against. The rest were undecided".

....

"After meeting with his British counterpart, Gordon Brown, Wednesday. Anders Fogh Rasmussen, the prime minister, said holding a referendum had to be considered from both a legal and political viewpoint. ‘The legal side of it is that if sovereignty is handed over from the member states to the EU there has to be a referendum. But politically I see a considerable difference between a constitutional treaty and a reform treaty, and I also believe that needs to be taken into consideration.’

But will that 'difference' fly, Anders?

What the hell is wrong with these people? It's not a treaty, for gods sake!!!! It is the referendum repackaged.

And did you notice that the Dutch government decided there was no need to hold a referendum when the public polls showed that it would clearly get a 'no' vote?

Anders Fogh is a hero. It was he who refused to see the nutbag imams regarding the publication of the mo' cartoons in Denmark, saying there was freedom of the press in Denmark and it wasn't the business of the prime minister to interfere.

He sent them away with a camel flea in their ear.
