EU to grow by 50%?

We have all heard about Icelandic interest in joining, but we may well be in for a veritable drang nach nord westen:

"[Greenlandic] Juliane Henningsen, MP for IA, has requested a lawyer to look into the possibility of EU membership for Greenland.

Henningsen commented that the investigation into possible EU membership is being carried out together with the Faroe Islands". Source

The addition of the other Atlantic islands would increase the size of the EU by more than 50%. Population would be up by about a third of a million, roughly the population of the borough of Croydon.

Thrilling, huh?

I thought Greenland had been a member at some point before?

Can we leave yet?

BE - It was, yes - 1973-1985.

Time to get biblical:

"As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly".

I think they've locked the door from the outside, the blighters.
