Hurrah for the US Constitution. Possibly

Wise fellows, the founding fathers:

"No Senator or Representative shall, during the Time for which he was elected, be appointed to any civil Office under the Authority of the United States, which shall have been created, or the Emoluments [wages] whereof shall have been encreased (sic) during such time".

Our old friend Hilary was in the Senate when Condi Rice got a pay rise, so according to Judicial Watch, reported by Novosti, she is ineligible for the post, the possibility of a Saxbe Fix - whereby the salary would be reduced to the status quo ante - nothwithstanding

I observe on Fox News this very disgrace.

"Dreisdach said as long as Democrats control the Senate, the Obama transition team won't worry about this provision in the Constitution."

don't worry about the provision? Isn't the Constitution meant to be a sort of technically supreme law sort of thingy? Or can they ignore the ultimate code of US law now that the Obamessiah has the world by the metaphoricals for the next four years?

Previous Administrations may well have worked around this in the past but it's hardly an encouraging start for the jug-eared One. Next he'll be invading somewhere randomly.
