The Solicitor-General: First, let me respond to the hon. Gentleman’s effusive personal compliment to me, which I take in very good heart. I am more frequently likened to a goblin than a pixie, but I am doing my best.
And who is the SG? It is Vera Baird, who looks like this:

Far be it for me to be gallant, but I think pixie is a closer match.

Ho ho. It would appear not, and Steen is, by all accounts, un preux chevalier and an adornment to public life.

Mr Steen appears to be a bit of a git. It was a condescending remark designed to remind Ms Whatsit that she is a member of "the fairer sex" and a weaker vessel.
I thought her response was pretty robust and turned his ridiculous comment on its head.
