ummm...

Any civilisation able to traverse the unimaginable distances of interstellar space AND have the amazing good fortune to bump into us will be of so far superior in technology (and quite possibly morality) to make any worries about defending ourselves academic.

No matter; whatever ones perception of the outcome, the likelihood of us being visited by the aforementioned interstellar travellers is so unbelievably remote as to make the premise of this post positively facile
