Socialism - I'll accept it if it is between consenting adults. And maybe even in public.

A piece in the Jerusalem Post has Barak telling a "sympathetic audience of 150 mostly elderly kibbutzniks" that "You cannot win an election in the State of Israel with leftist policies".

This is the country that was ruled, uninterruptedly, by lefties from 1948 to 1977 and used to have a classic command and control economy. This is, admittedly, ancient history, but I recall one of the great political theorists of the New Right (Friedman?, Hayek?, Nozick? - I forget) suggesting that the proportion of the Israeli population in kibbutzes gave an indication as to how many folk would vountarily engage in socialism if it meant rather more than being at the receiving end of welfarism. So, a little research later, it turns out that around 117,000 Israelis out of 7.1m live as kibbutzniks - 1.6% of the population.....

One of the unforeseen results of communal living was the incest taboo potecting us from attraction to our siblings was undermined by communal child rearing . There were often problems I gather.
