Attention seeking lobbyists

I should forbear from publicising Sustain's stunt call for the government to only serve tap water rather than the bottled stuff, but I just have. If it were because of cost savings, I might approve, but instead it is envirofascism:

"The 'Have you bottled it? How drinking tap water can help save you and the planet' report says the majority of used plastic water bottles are either incinerated or buried in landfill sites. Transport used to get bottled water into stores generates CO2 emissions which harm the environment, the report says".

Groan.

Hmmm what next - a nice malt produced in a biodegrable carton. That would look lovely in the drinks cabinet.

I wonder if Sustain have ever used a disposable biro - as my ink pen is much more environmentally friendly.

It is very worrying how many people are naive enough to have fallen for this environmental fascism, which is all about control, as there is actually nothing wrong with the planet Earth.

Anonymous Anonymous said... 3:57 pm

Oh, of course, and no lefty control programme is complete without the cutesy-poo slogan. "Have You Bottled It?" could equally apply to a urine sample.

So last year wasn't the warmest ever? Clearly the Met Office is controlled by commies.

Anonymous Anonymous said... 5:11 pm

Sutton Skeptic - And you think records have been kept since the beginning of time, do you?

It would be more accurate to say "warmest since records have been kept" - meaning, around a hundred years. And "warmest in a hundred years" is the life of a Mayfly in terms of the age of the earth.

Are people still citing "commies" as bogeymen? How amusing.

Russia is currently going through a warm winter - hardly any snow in Moscow up until Christmas. Only +2° and rainy even now. All most unusual and every washed brain calling from England who asks about the weather immediately mentions Global Warming.

After winding them up by observing that the Russians are relaxed about GW and looking forward to having a Summer beach on the Moskva, like the Parisians do on the Seine, I then irritate them further by pointing out that last Winter in Russia was the coldest since the 30's.

It is characteristic of religious believers that they see evidence of their faith everywhere and deny all contrary evidence as heresy. I don't know how much truth is in their beliefs, but I suspect that environmentalism is becoming a religion, so that all truth will soon be irrelevant.

Tom - Indeed. And you may have heard of the character who seeks to make denial of climate change a criminal offence. Yes, really.

Anonymous Anonymous said... 6:37 pm

Well, Croydonian, that is really frightening. The thought fascists are winning in Britain.

Actually, supporter of Israel though I am, and having as many Jewish friends as I always have, I think that making Holocaust denial into a crime posed a danger to freedom of speech. If some moonbat is mad enough to ignore the sickening evidence of the concentration camps, he is such an obviously deluded individual (whether driven by hatred or not isn't really relevant), that what he has to say or write is of no consequence anyway.

Now we have fellow fascist moonbats wanting to make denial of other things a criminal offence. And the Thought Tsar Tony Blair wants to make disapproval of islam into a thought crime. (He seems also to want to recategorise islam as a race, although actually, I think he really believes it is; he is that ignorant.)

Fortunately enough the over excited environmentalist is an Australian rather than one of ours. Still, I suppose not all Australians can be expected to have mastered common sense.

'I suppose not all Australians can be expected to have mastered common sense.'

Oh, tut tut! This coming from the land of Big Brother House, Heather Mills, Tony Blair, the drooling morons in the British Cabinet, Polly Toynbee, Yasmin Ali-something, the British film industry, the BBC and John Prescott?

Oz PM John Howard is a fine, robust, commonsense thinker, as are many of the Ozzies I know.

Blogger Croydonian said... 7:38 pm

No dig at our Oz chums intended. It was more that they generally seem to have rather more common sense than my compatriots, so a little light green moonbattery seemed out of character.

Vee
Anti-communism is still alive among yr armed hillbilly friends in USA. (But it's not so unreasonable when you look at how many people Marxism has killed.)
But if it's not the commos who've taken over the Met Office, D Cameron, Shwarzenegger etc., who is it. (Ah oui - the French!)

The last ice age was ended by a Celeb Big Bruv getting out of hand.
