BBC take note?

The Oz state broadcaster ABC is to be reined in thus:

"Now, for the first time, political monitoring will extend beyond news and current affairs to all ABC programs, including comedy, entertainment, performance and local radio...A content category called “Opinion” will be created, requiring presentations of points of view about any “matter of public contention” to be “balanced” by opposing opinions". The source for this is a very hostile leftie polemic so I've just abstracted the apparent facts from amidst the ranting.

I would prefer the BBC to operate as a commercial entity in the markeplace, and be no more fettered on issues of bias than newspapers, but given that that is unlikley to happen any time soon, this sort of regulatory oversight looks worthy of consideration.

Huh. On many issues the BBC is no more fettered than .. the Guardian, th'Indy and the Morning Star (which shares 95% of its DNA with the Guardian, having done a 1984-style reversal of the opinions it held during the cold war - it's now very worried about the freedom to demonstrate, fair inuff, but I don't remember such a freedom in the USSR, must be a victim of False Memory syndromee).

The BBC has the same defeatist attitude as the other channels, on Iraqistan. Fair inuff, but there must be some ex-soldiers who
support our boys.

Very sound indeed . I don`t think you can lay all the blame for the left leaning arts establishment with the BBC though . As far back as I can remember , in any , even vaguely, creative project I have atempted I have been the only rightish person. This is above all true in drama .

An intresting post amd something about which i am trying to get some thoughts of my own together

IS THIS FAIR COMMENT ? IS IT NUTTY ? DALE DID AFTER ALL LINK MY BLOG ....dunno .

............and speaking of political correctness I am beginning to have severe doubts about Iain ( BBC )Dale`s ability to continue as an independent commentator and be on the A list . In fact he has by now already handed in his promises , I bet . I know exactly how it works and expect subtle repositioning , over the next two years . There must be an alternative venue for genuinely free thinking . Or not ?

I wonder why it is that I am constantly edited and censored whereas a verbal flame thrower like verity and others never are ?

The other trick seems to be to withhold posts until the debate , if there is one has past by.

This has been subject to one or the other . Does it bear watching or am I being paranoid ?I `m really not sure , what do you think?

Well how fascinating to know , that in ways ordinary Conservatives are far to stupid to be told someone is doing something….about something.
The fact that Cameron is a ruthless and determined politician is scarcely news to anyone . I doubt otherwise he would have hauled his sick kid out with such nauseating regularity . I have , on two occasions panicked about the whole Cameron project despite believing it to be the least worst option.
The first was when he insulted Margaret Thatcher for branding purposes on the anniversary of 9.11. The second was reading George Waldens coruscating and accurate dissection of Cameron`s motives and instincts this week . I feel ,however , I may be working on behalf of a party that despises me . I know it despises me , I see in the patronising smiles of its inner sanctum when I ask them questions . Questions they cannot answer and lack either the brains or commitment to address.
Who is acceptable ? Have a look at Conservative home where successive creepy wannabees delineate between this or that policy on say “education” , with no mention of the useless teachers and their unions. Rearranging deckchairs on the Titanic , but then improving education isn’t the point is it . getting on the A list is the point , sucking up to Cameron is the point. Just an example it’s the attitude that I am describing. Its as if Margaret Thatcher had worked for Cecil Parkinson instead of visa versa.
With UKIP a joke and the BNP , obviously , vile , where do you go . Jog along with all the others who , none to secretly , hate what is happening to the party. I suppose .

Iain , the reason they lay it on think about the difficulties in the marginal seats is because that is the justification for the whole supine mood music Liberalism on offer. They say , in effect , Tony Balir has created a country where a Conservative can’t win . Perhaps that’s right , I wouldn’t take it at face value though..

I `m starting to think this way. ( thanks to JT)
