Dodgy logic corner

Which comes courtesy of Lord Morris of Handsworth, better known as Bill Morris, formerly head of the TGWU.

Here is his 'argument', framed in his maiden speech in the Lords, and is in the context of the Emergency Workers (Obstruction) Bill, as blogged yesterday:

"How on earth have we ended up with a society in which emergency workers become the targets of abuse and attacks while carrying out their duties as public servants? Why do our public servants find themselves victims, being attacked and obstructed by their services to the community? I would suggest that one cause is that we as a society have systematically devalued our public services and disrespected our public servants for years. And we are now paying a very heavy price."

Yup, it is those Big Four privatisation specialists, backed up by outsourcers throwing bricks in Telford, egged on by 'year zero' think tankers..

Meanwhile, when was the last time anyone encountered a civil servant who was even remotely civil?
