The blogging forecast for today is light

As for my sins I'm going to be away from Sweet Home Croydon and out in the wilds of Surrey on business. I very much doubt I will be able to resist the lure altogether though.

Meanwhile, an amusing item in the Sydney Morning Herald on unfortunate names.

On a related, and rather more serious note, The New York Times looks at Iraqis changing their names to avoid being marked out as Sunni or Shia.

Hope it was a successful business trip, nice for you to come up for air, we all need it from time to time.

I'm still there - it is *awful*.

My pseudo-employer's office is like a morgue these days, and I feel a bit inhibited about doing too much blogging when I'm on a per diem.

that's the sort of office I like!

Could be worse Croydonian, I am sat in a south facing room (its hot ) with a chronic aircon cough trying to drum up some business.
If you know anybody who is looking for data ,I am your man.

BTW
What exactly is it you do William?

Shit I sound like one of those tragic cases who attend "First Tuesday" events, if you don't know what they are, its a bit like Alcoholics Anonymous or Weight Watchers for skint wannabees. Never have attended never will.
If you are there on IT consultancy, just tell them you need to go and get a part, then go home sit in the garden, go back tomorrow with a screwdriver, fiddle around a bit and claim another day, double bubble.

Difficult to describe really, but I'm a sort of PR consultant. Duller than it sounds, I'm afraid.

So no Champagne and coke parties to launch this seasons Prada range ?
Maybe leading on to you waking up in a suite at Claridges and finding Kate Moss fiddling with your pants with a lascivious look on her face?

La Moss may well be a good Croydon gal, but she's not my type. (Not that I'm exactly in a position to give her the brush off).

Alas no piling into the Krug and the Columbian national export at my end of the business.
