Doesn't sound very butch to me. Away from the joke opportunities, the poor beasties have been attacked by dogs and / or foxes.

Umm, really?

Because even if you shoot the beasts responsible, won't other predators just move in on the patch? With all that lovely, helpless, unable-to-fly food on the go?
