2008 - what a year for Kim Jong Il

The results are in, so for your enjoyment and possible edification, here is an exciting pie chart depicting what Kim did, or rather admitted to doing, last year. Details tallied from various listed activities here.

And doesn't he just love a man in uniform, (although there is a tale headed 'Performance of KPA Officers' Wives Appreciated'...) with unit inspections (44) the top way for the dwarfish thug to spend his time in public. Field guidance (30) was also popular, with factories and farms getting the same old speech Kim always gives out.

Elsewhere he went to theatrical etc performances and a few football matches (Kim Il Sung University Vs Pyongyang University of Railways and Mangyongbong Vs Jebi), although who he supports is as yet unknown. I bet his English top flight team is Man U though...

In other news, wreaths were laid and mong those receiving congratulations were Assad, Medvedev and Castro.

Did he beat his record of 11 hole-in-ones on a round of golf, though?

Nick - no danger of Stockholm syndrome, although there is always the risk of uncontrollable sniggering.

Tim- Not that the DPRK's news agency has announced. I will be keeping my eyes peeled, natch.
