Nice non-work if you can get it

Morris Iemma, an Oz socialist had decided - in the best Norman Fowler tradition - to spend more time with his family.

Not, on the face of it, enormously interesting, but whereas our pols use that phrase meaning they want to spend more time cozying up to their bank accounts, Iemma had this to say:

"Asked if he had a new job lined up after his resignation, he said: "Yes, husband and father."

Either Iemma has managed to pile up an awful lot of moolah while PM of New South Wales, Mrs I is going to have to carry on bean counting or they are both going to be going in for some serious benefit claiming.

Wages for househusbands, anyone?

Meanwhile I can think of a fair few British politicians I would like to follow that example, in that they would only be damaging their weans rather than 60 odd million of their countrymen and women.
