Further signs of the apocalypse

I have in my mitt a flier for an event that boasts the presence of a Socialist Magician. Yes, really.

I suppose his act involves creating a run on sterling.

Come again?

A socialist magician? Is that one that makes your money disappear?

Is it Alastair Darling? He's creating a run on sterling. Look at its value v Euro over his "stewardship"....

Nomad - Much punchier than my effort.

I am away for a few days, hence delayed reaction. Blogging, naturally , will be light.

I see Polly Toytown has turned against the G Broon that she simply couldn't wait for to take over, deploying her usual hyperbole.

Seems G Broon's no longer magic.

Original lyrics

Cara al sol con la camisa nueva,
que tu bordaste en rojo ayer,
me hallará la muerte si me lleva
y no te vuelvo a ver.

Formaré junto a mis compañeros

¡Arriba, escuadras, a vencer,
que en España empieza a amanecer!

¡España una!
¡España grande!
¡España libre!
¡Arriba España!

Translated lyrics

Facing the sun in my new shirt
that you embroidered in red yesterday,
That's how death will find me if it takes me
and I won't see you again.

I'll take my place alongside my companions
who stand on guard in the heavens,
with a hard countenance,
they are alive in our effort.

If they say to you that I fell,
'know that I'm gone to my post up there.

The flags of victory will return
marching merrily along peace
and bringing five red roses:
the arrows of my quiver.

Spring will laugh again,
which we await by air, land and sea.

Onwards, squadrons, to victory,
that a new day dawns on Spain!

Spain united!
Spain (the) great!
Spain (the) free!
Onwards Spain!

Very thoughtful, GdM, if not hugely on topic, old bean.

Have you considered the efficacy of another post, Mr. C?

James and anyone else reading - normal service will be resumed shortly.

Being a connectivity victim I have been checking on comments, but decided that sitting by the pool etc was a better use of my holiday than blogging.
