Sweden's 'meat mountain'
I am indebted to The Local for introducing me to the term 'Meat mountain', which I presume is a literal translation from the Swedish.
And what is the 'meat mountain', and why do I think it worth commenting on?
Nothing to do with the delights of Nordic gastronomy, overweight cattle, body builders etc etc, but rather those Swedes in late middle age and older:
"In an interview with Svenska Dagbladet, [Liberal Party's upcoming leader] Björklund criticized former finance minister Pär Nuder for his use of the term "meat mountain" to describe the generation born in the 1940s".
Nuder himself appears to be a mere 16 years shy of the peak of Mt Sirloin himself.
