Civil Service Network reports that Whitehall HSE bods are a tad flustered about the prospect of a move to Merseyside, and have even gone so far as to "[take] part in a small demonstration".
I await a furious response from the Echo and the usual rent-a-quote scousers that emerge from the wainscotting whenever the 'pool is criticised, however obliquely.
I would have thought that the prospect of escaping a London commute and having money go heaven knows how much further on property while keeping one's job and presumably the same pay would be quite appealing.

When was the last time you went to the Lpool !, the last time I went was three years ago as a witness in a Court case, and every floor of the Court was crawling with heavily armed cops with Heckler & Koch automatics. Deeply disturbing visit !
Nearest I've ever got to Liverpool is Newton Le Willows...
Mind you, London is not exactly the most law abiding locale is it?
Their money will definitely go much further. They should stop being so stuck up.

same thing happened when our favourite quange the Standards Board for England went to manchester...
Most gave up theirjobs rather than go.
They'll get over it once they realise that the cheap flights go from Liverpool JL airport.
