There are still some 'celebrities' who want to hang out with Mr Tony....

Over at the Number 10 site, it names some of the slebs lobbying for the toe-curlingly named Global Cool.

Among those named by Number 10 are Stephen Fry, KT Tunstall, Josh Hartnett, Brian May, Anita Dobson and Perry Farrell. Not exactly super A-list, are they? Global Cool itself names Alan Yentob of the BBC as being in attendance, which Number 10 does not. Not cool enough, eh Alan?

Blogger problems
I have had some problems reported on comment posting, and cannot access comment threads in the archives or at the start of this month. If anyone else is having problems, please e-mail me. I'm shaking the blogger tree, but do not anticipate a speedy response.

It looks to be a blogger wide problem, so if anyone cannot post on the relevant thread, feel free to post on one that will accept it.

It's all coming up in SPANISH .... why? I never requested Spanish. I don't think this company is very technically ept.

What is so stupid is, there are probably at least 10m Brit expats all over the world in non-English speaking countries, and we all follow British news. I don't like my computer being overridden by some twitty little nerd in a blogging company.

Sometimes it is like swimming through glue dealing with blogger....

My apologies.

Finally !!

I am having endless trouble , my occasional blog is down to minimum functions and there is noone to ask about it .
"twitty little nerd" , nice phrase Verity. I should think you would be amusing company in what we call here a pub. I daresay its all tequila and nachos around your manor. I wonder how Blair is going to cope with opprobrium attenuated by irrelevance. Bruno cracked , Heath went doolally ..one must hope .I already have to be reminded he is still technically the Prime minister. I want him to hang on , it gets worse and worse for Broon.

Mr. C -

Goodness but blogger is being more than unusually unco-operative today. It's not only this site but His Gracefulness Archbishop Cranmer's as well. But one does what one can, soldiers on, fights the good fight, tally-ho, toodle-pip and all that.

Anyway. Thank you for the link to the estimable cool people. It was most informative. I had not known before visiting their site that the British Museum was launched only two days ago. I was quite sure it was longer ago than that. Still, they have the blessing and support of the Prime Minister, so they are undoubtedly correct in their claims.

I believe I shall go lie down now. Battling with blogger has rather done me in a bit.

Here is the error message I receive:
Lo sentimos, pero no hemos podido llevar a cabo tu petición and then, in direction which defies logic, it then goes on to give the rest of the error message in English.

What. is. the. bloody. point?

Newmania - No tequila, thanks! I am a whisky girl. I like nachos, though.

Ironically enough I posted a (hopefully helpful) comment about Verity's Spanish issues on the "A Curious Email" thread.

Thought I'd check back today to see if there was a reply from either you or her...but can't access that comments section due to this new problem.

Oh, guess what! It's all coming up in English now! Hooray!

Anonymous Anonymous said... 7:12 pm

Bloomin' typical, Verity. The moment I try to do helpful stuff then everything sorts itself out on its own.

If only I'd been a doctor....

Maybe it was just el fantasma en la máquina...

Anonymous Anonymous said... 7:29 pm

Tal vez.

Anonymous Anonymous said... 9:12 pm

Thanks anyway, Geoff. I appreciate it.

Geoff - the Spanish is back! Any way I can beat this thing?
