The attempted kidnap of Elie Wiesel
The Jerusalem papers have a rather disturbing story of the attempted kidnapping and successful roughing up of Elie Wiesel, the 78 year old Shoah survivor and distinguished writer.
Although no-one has as yet been arrested, one Eric Hunt has claimed responsibility on a now disabled anti-semitic web site, "I had planned to bring Wiesel to my hotel room, where he would truthfully answer my questions regarding the fact that his non-fiction Holocaust memoir, 'Night,' is almost entirely fictitious. I had been trailing Wiesel for weeks and had hoped to get Wiesel into my custody, with a cornered Wiesel finally forced to state the truth on videotape".
Disregarding briefly the nature of the 'argument', the idea that any 'confession' exacted from an old and frail man through force would have any value takes us deeply into the realms of the absurd. I will confess to not having read any Wiesel, but strongly recommend the entire canon of Primo Levi, especially the astonishing, and largely non-Shoah related, 'Periodic Table'.
The blogging forecast for the weekend is light - far too much work to do, alas.

A well exposed fraud at that.
Im not denying the holocaust , just denouncing Weasel.
Do some googling , distinguished he aint.
You can tell a lot about a man by his declared foes, and they include Icke and Norman Finkelstein.
