Nancy Pelosi's taste for the high life.

The new, and somewhat over-groomed, US Speaker really does not like slumming it with the icky proles when it comes to flying back to San Fran from DC.

Due to post 9/11 paranoia, the woman two steps away from the Oval Office does not have to put up with scheduled flights, which must be nice. However, the latest indignity forced on the poor woman is that if she does not fly in a C-32 or C-40 (the equivalent of a 757 or a 737), there is a risk that the plane might have to stop to refuel. Gasp.. That Pelosi has inquired about letting her progeny and her progeny's progeny hitch a ride at the taxpayers' expense is something that even her somewhat embarassed spokesbod could not deny. Nor that she tried to get a military plane to fly her from DC to Williamsburg, Virginia - about the same distance as London to Cardiff....

This sounds like another scam on the taxpayer the great political scam, how much is lost to the taxpayer, US or UK by believing things that politicians say?

(bet he has thought about it though)

Blair is that fucking cheeky, didn't he just recently order two "Blair force ones" No doubt for him and Cherie to hijack on one of their Caribbean freebies, even after his departure.

As for Old Nancy Pelosi, she's a bitch! The well groomed Democratic poster girl is nothing more than a ponce an American aristocratic one at that.

How touching this is after her tirade last week, accompanied by her children and grandchildren, against the terror of global warming.

Nice to see lefties in the US can live with our own lefties high standards of hypocracy.

Nancy Pelosi and Hillary Clinton are horrifying looking women. Really scary.

I do love it when they wheel out the old 'it's not what I do, it's what I say'' argument'.

Are you in danger of missing the point? If she can't fly direct to California, her jet would have to land in fly-over country. Perhaps even Republican country. My dears, that would be too, too awful.

Dearie me
Plus some righteous second ammendment loving westerner may just pop a cap on her global elite ass.

Oh. my. God. I hadn't thought of that! She may have to talk to some people who live in the fabled flyover country, which is a place she has only heard about. She may have to actually - shudder! - engage with them.

I read a funny piece the other day, I think it was by a woman, in The Times, but yes, it was still funny (in other words not Mary Ann Seigbore or Christina O'Drone)about how Hillary Clinton has taken to wearing lockets and charm bracelets to try to look like a normal female Democrat voter. And she's wearing a lot of pink.

She'll get the nomination, but I would be astounded if she wins the presidency. Please God, let the Reps run someone strong and charismatic against her.

Surely Mcain or Guliani have an easy ride against Hilary?

Well, CU, not sure, because apparently Guiliani has some negative points like, uh, gun control. Never a fine idea if you want Reps to vote for you.

McCain - I don't know enough to have an opinion but I understand he doesn't appeal to young voters. Viet Nam was a long time ago.

Of course, like voters everywhere, American voters are a pragmatic bunch and understand that trade-offs aren't always trade-offs. For example, if they voted for Guiliani, it would make absolutely no difference to the gun control agendas in their own states. The President of the United States has no control over the individual states. The governors are the chief executives. The President of the US is the CE of the federal US. He cannot interfere in the states, which is why President Bush could not send federal aid to the state of Louisiana during Katrina until the dreadful Governor Blanco finally agreed to it. Bush had been on the phone to her three times asking if she would accept federal aid. She said no - because she and her pals were still divvying up the contracts for reconstruction.

People just don't know enough about the structure of the American government. I would love to see Guiliani as president. And his views on gun control are actually irrelevant.
