I don't suppose that that indicates that Indian journos have 'regimed' us BBC-style because our democratic credentials are in doubt, more that they use the word without the connotations yonder. Amusing nevertheless.

But people here have been talking of "the Blair regime" for the past two or three years. Aware of the connotations.

Didn't the Beeb start that with 'The Self-Styled Rebel Smith Regime' which they obviously did not style themselves.
Since then I have always referred -with considerably greater accuracy - to the 'Self-Styled Media', by which I mean:
they styled themselves so;
Chs 3 & 4 were little better; hypocrites, liars, parasites.
