Political unions of the damned
Apparently Benn jr is going for a tilt at the Labour deputy leadership, and, get this, "is rumoured to have the support of former cabinet minister Ian McCartney". Doubtless Benn père will not waste a second on jealousy if his boy gets the job.
The pairing of the scarcely coherent and troll-like member for Makerfield and the bookish and lanky member for Leeds Central is mind boggling.

That McCartney really is a repulsive little freak isn't he?
Not the one that married the monopedal whore but the Labour bloke.
We conservatives, with the odd exception tend to be far better looking than Socialists, my theory is that they form their crackpot ideas about "fairness" after having failed to be picked to play for the school and not getting laid until they were 25 years old.

"having failed to be picked to play for the school" or 'having failed to be picked for the school play'?
Incidentally, McCartney is ruling himself out to be the new voice of the speaking clock.

Talking of Labour's leadership fiasco, John McDonnell MP came to Southampton University last week to talk to students. He was trying to get the University Labout group to endorse him (they didn't)but to me the most amazing thing was how an MP can be so critical and hate-filled of his own government without losing the whip.
Incidently membership of the main political parties on campus after the bun fight, according to my spies,; Conservative- over 200, Labour-15, Lib-Dems- not active.

Matt, thanks for that. I'm rooting for McDonnell as I have a couple of quid on him at very long odds, plus he would lead Labour to near total annihilation.
