Not particularly political, but quite ironic

The Telegraph has an interesting interview with the founder of betfair, and it turns out his grandfather was Sir Cyril Black, one time somewhat puritanical Tory MP for Wimbledon who was vehemently anti-gambling. Ho ho...

I made a few quid on the B&C by-election, following political betting's description of it offering the prospect of as 'free money'. Bit of a close shave, mind.

I've been trying to lay hands on a list of by-election turn outs but so far Google hasn't delivered.

Anyway, by-election turn out is always rather poor, and I ascribe this to laziness on the part of the electorate. And frankly they should be ashamed of themselves.

you say that Croydonian but the runout in BG was 50%,B+C was 40%.Quite clearly the people of Bg saw something to vote for.

I am not trying to be contentious BUT DC may have made a rod for his own back

RM - it's a fair cop. I hadn't compared the two before spouting off.
