Something to think about today
Today is the 72nd anniversary of the death of R.J.Mitchell. I would hope that some readers will immediately recognise the name, but equally well, some will not.
So, who he? He is the man that every once in a while I toast as 'the saviour of his country' . And for why? Because he designed the Spitfire.

What's remarkable - and sometimes forgotten - is that all this work was carried out before the beginning of the Second World War.
