An utterly bizarre crimewave

From the GLA:

"Violent attacks against betting shop employees in London increased by 40 per cent between 2005 and 2007".

Hard figures are not given, so it might have been a rise from five to seven for all I know. Not good, however.

Ah, but we need to know the increase on all shop staff.

No doubt it was caused by people feeling left out of the Brown "Boom".

Any further increase will be caused by people feeling left out of the Brown Bailout.

An upsurge of sore losers?

Why anyone would go to a betting shop when there are better odds to be had online is also a mystery.

Have you been to a betting shop recently, Mr C? Your typical punter is not someone you'd expect to be au fait the interweb, or to have broadband at home, let's put it like that.

JM - not of late. I thought the net was pretty universal bar for the very old these days.
