A curious way of doing, and measuring, business
The Swedes contracted to sell Saab fighter planes to South Africa a few years back, and as part of defence offsetting between the two countries, Pretoria has counted incoming tourists as weighing in Saab's favour. Fairly odd, but odder still, all Scandinavians have been included. I cannot find any evidence that the planes are assembled anywhere other than Linköping. Possibly there are Danish and Norwegian subcontractors, but it would appear that the SA authorities could not split out the Danes from the Swedes, so they counted all of them. Worth bearing in mind that Hibernians, Gauls and Belgians could be included as Britons the next time one is doing business with South Africa.

I expect nothing less than this frankly bizarre way of doing business from the South African government. They are of course run by marxist lunatics intent on following the celebrated 'Mugabe Model.'

Cu is on the money. There was ghastly article in the DT about Mugabe the DT and about what is going on in SA. I fear the celebrations were early for the rainbow nation.
What a tragedy and the odd thing about SO was always this .They behaved vastly better than the other ruling tribes.
We expected more.Mrs T may yet turn out to be right
