Don't say I didn't warn you....

Thought I'd dive in and just go for a new template. It is still a bit rough around the edges, but maybe I can impose on Dizzy's patience, again, to finalise it.

Test post....

Glad you like it. I'm pretty pleased with the look of it. If there's anyone with a degree of blogger savvy reading this, any ideas why, as Verity put it 'Why are we being asked for a "user name" when all the comments are anonymous?'

Also, any ideas as to why clicking on comments does not show the identity of the comment maker, which only shows up when I / you (?) click on add comment?

fuck me !
it looks like a victorian condolences card.

'With deepest sympathies....'

Despite all the ruckus about his name, it is nice to see that Peter Hitchens is maintaining his dignity and courteous means of address.

Blogger Croydonian said... 8:13 pm

Peter is Peter, and I'm sure no-one would want it any other way. The thread at Guido's is quite something, isn't it?

Anonymous Anonymous said... 8:26 pm

Yes, I think it's the funniest thread I've ever read. Some plodding, but in the main very witty.

The whole "Hitch" brand is ruined.
Like Kate Moss I need to stand back , re-evaluate, then find another way to fill my boots blogwise.

Mr. Hitchens is to be congratulated for his recent words of wisdom at Cranmer's place amongst other.

Mr. Croydonian, I am not too keeen on the minimalist template- something a bit more Tudor would serve you well Sir.

Blogger Croydonian said... 9:12 am

Maybe you tried to over leverage you brand, Peter? Perhaps you should save the PH identity for special occasions?

Re the Epicsopal blog, I anticipate /quite the reaction from Mission Impossible..

Tudor? Now there's an idea. Anthony Burgess once referred to the US as being a tudor monarchy with telephones. Not sure David Starkey would agree.

Blogger Praguetory said... 9:23 am

Thumbs up.

Croydonian,
'seems Mission Impossible's response has arrived at cranmers blog. It makes quite a read.

Blogger Croydonian said... 10:05 am

PHS

Yup, it certainly does. I'm steering well clear of that particular bare-knuckle fight.

Blogger Stan Bull said... 12:17 pm

Mr. Croydonian,

MI has, however, referred to both GC and your good self in gracious terms. Alas, Mr. Hitchens' has not received the same treatment...

Blogger Croydonian said... 12:32 pm

GC - and thus all the more reason to be a non-combatant...

Blogger The Daily Pundit said... 1:49 pm

It looks the part.

Blogger Bel said... 8:49 pm

I like this template.

Blogger Croydonian said... 9:08 pm

I think the ayes have it...

Blogger Martine Martin said... 5:55 pm

I think it looks rather good - well done!

The new format obviously doesn't prevent 'finger trouble' - or is "British peole" an obscure reference to the fragrant Cherie?
