Denmark - *Not* a good place to be a tiger

"Two Siberian tigers in Odense Zoo were put to sleep due to old age and lagging sex drive....We are talking about two old tigers. The male was about 15 years old and the female was between 12 and 14,' managing director Henrik Lehman Andersen told Nyhedsavisen newspaper. 'Since neither of them had shown any interest in mating, we had to give priority to those who do.' Source

Apparently, "a typical tiger's life expectancy in the wild is 15-20 years; somewhat longer in captivity. The oldest tiger on record was 26 years". Source

The moral one could infer from this is more than a little alarming.

....Tiger, tiger burning bright
In the forest of the night
The moon shed light
On my hopeless plight**

....and here comes the keeper to put out your light.

** Joni Mitchell I think?

Looks as though it is indeed one of La Mitchell's songs.
