Geography lesson for Derek Twigg?

What does 'on the continent of Europe' mean to you? To me it excludes this Sceptred Isle, and by extension, Hibernia, Iceland and sundry other islands.

Not, however to Derek Twigg, who sees fit to include Cyprus as being 'on the continent', judging from this response to a written question on 'what British military bases there are on the continent of Europe'. Source.

Twiggy has had his wiki page played with, by the look of things, as he is described as "Member of Parliament for Chemically contaminated Halton (UK Parliament constituency)|Halton]] in Cheshire". Source.

Presumably, Twigg meant "continent of Europe" in the sense of the "European Union". Is that pedantic of me or what?

Twiggy also included Gib, which isn't in the EU.....

Well if israel can compete in the Eurovision song contest????

I always wondered if they fielded that tranny just to tweak the nose of brother towel head.

Now, now - don't go round blaming the twiglet who only reads what is put in front of him. That reply was probably drafted by some iggerant Nulab ejerkated oik in the ministry.

Hitch - Quite possibly. Then again, there isn't an Asiavision song contest as far as I know, and somehow I can't imagine that Iran, Saudi Arabia and so forth would be very keen on going up against the hated yahudi...

Nomad - Probably.
